Hi all, I'm another long-time lurker who's finally joined. I'm coming to canoes from the dark side, as our WW kayaks haven't had much use since our daughter arrived almost 2 years ago. I don't own an open boat yet, but for a recent significant birthday I received money to go towards a canoe-building course this summer/autumn (thread asking for advice about that to come shortly in the self-build section), so hopefully we'll soon be able to enjoy some family adventures on the Cam (our local river) and further afield.
