    We are going to be moving over to the new server on Saturday the 19th January 2019. The forum will be down and then we have to swap the domain over to the new server. This can take days to propagate on some services so make sure you clear cookies and try reconnecting every so often.

    the Facebook group will still be active and I’ll post any updates there if there are any.

            Unfortunately not the right sort of busy this time Jamie. I've knackered some discs in my lower back, so no canoeing for me for the foreseeable as I can't lift much more than a mug of tea (or a bacon roll).

            So far so good with the move though, the DNS changes and propagation is usually the longest part of getting all the users back online - last time (not done by me) there was a couple of days of hiatus for some users :eek:

            Roll on 9.30 (see new notice at top of forum)

                "What's new" only works if I log in.

                Then it's fine

                    Still getting the "duplicate post/30 secs" error after posting anything.

                      Things are getting fixed as we speak. If you do a hard refresh of your webpage and try again you might get a different result. Couple of things just fixed although I hadn’t heard of the 30 secs error till now.

                          Items fixed:

                          * - Favicon not showing
                          * - Blank page following forum post or reply
                          * - Double posting from some web browsers
                          * - Error on sending new PM
                          * - Error on replying to existing PM

                          If you're STILL experiencing odd behaviour by the forum software, the problem may have already been fixed but the cache of the site by your browser may not be up to date, to fix this:

                          * If you're using a PC running MS Windows or a Linux distribution using one of the following browsers, Mozilla Firefox/Microsoft Internet Explorer/Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge, with the forum page open:

                          Code: Select all

                          Press and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard, then press the F5 key once to reload the page
                          * If you're using a Mac running Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, with the forum page open:

                          Code: Select all

                          Hold down the Command and Shift keys and press the R key once to reload the page
                          * If you're using a Mac running Safari, with the forum page open:

                          Code: Select all

                          Hold the Shift key down and click the Reload toolbar icon - note: the reload button on it's own isn't sufficient
                          * If you're using an iPad/iPod/iPhone:

                          Code: Select all

                          https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7950748
                          * If you're using an Android device and the Page refresh option in the browser doesn't fix the problem, you will need to clear the browser cache from within settings. There are numerous versions of Android all of the subtly different, please refer to your device manual for explicit instructions.

                          If there's anything else, please post in here or PM an Admin or Mod.

                          Thanks all for your patience.

                                      Well as an ex IT sort all I can say is great work by all involved - it worked and that is always a plus in my world.
                                      Backroom hassle is rarely appreciated at the front!

                                        Thanks Nick, we had a certain luxury of having both servers available alongside each other for some time, so the bulk of the move and testing could be done without affecting the live system - all credit to John there as he paid for it all.

                                        Once we'd got an environment into which we knew the forum would work we could move it. That's not to say there were a few glitches, there always are, but nothing that couldn't be quickly resolved.

                                        Ex IT... I tried that once, ended up with a ricked back :)
