    Hello

Thank you for accepting my membership.

We are in the process of looking to buy a good inflatable canoe and are looking for recommendations please. Shrewsbury is nestled on the curve of the river severn and we would like to explore the river on a canoe/kayak so any help and tips would be greatly received.

We also have a vintage 2 man PBK (we think) wooden and canvas canoe/kayak to sell in lovely condition but for the life of me I can't figure out how to post anything on the selling part of the forum!! :) so again, any tips gratefully received.

    Many thanks

    Emma

        Hello and Welcome!

Firstly, I'd be keeping the folding kayak rather than most inflatables. It'll paddle better.
Secondly, what sort of budget? That'll make a big difference to the quality of the inflatable.
Gumotex inflatables have a great reputation, and paddle better than more basic ones.

As for the other question, you have to be a contributing member to place ads. See here; http://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/forum/ ... hread-here!

Hope you find your new canoe soon, the Severn is a lovely river.

Hello and welcome. Don't buy any of the cheaper inflatables like those from Sevylor, you'd end up being disappointed. For the price of a Gumotex inflatable you could buy a very good rigid canoe which would outperform any inflatable. I started off with an inflatable but soon found its limitations, especially on a windy day.
