The Stand Up 11 differs from the SU12 and SU10 in that we made a few small but critical changes to the way we make the board to take it to that next level. The board performs much in the same way as the Stand Up 10, with that little extra speed you get from the added length.
The first change is that instead of using the twin layer sandwich construction of the other two boards, this uses a triple layer sandwich making it that little bit stronger. Then the hatch rims are molded right into the board, so no extra parts are screwed on which if not done with the same attention to detail that we use, could ultimately leak over time. The hatch covers are rubberized urethane urethane so you get a perfect seal. The front hatch is also much larger so you have that extra access to the inside for storage of your gear.
The bow bungee is replaced with a elastic netting, making it easier to keep odds and ends on board, and finally, a skid plate has been added to the keel so you can drag your board around without fear of wearing through the plastic. An optional extra fin can attach to this skid plate for extra tracking and speed. And finally, deck fittings for an optional kayak seat attachment are standard.
The Stand Up 11 costs a little more than the other two, but you get your moneys worth for sure!
