Great for technical paddling on whitewater, ocean surf, placid rivers and lakes. The Safari offers the widest range of capability of any kayak we know. Paddlers the world over use the Safari for expedition touring, flatwater day trips, ocean surfing, and Class III whitewater rivers. How can one small kayak do so much?

The Safari has a very efficient, low-drag hull shape. Because it is self-bailing, the kayak handles rough conditions easily and has a low profile against the wind. The removable fin makes the Safari track like a much longer kayak, yet it can be quickly detached for whitewater river paddling.

The Safari side tubes inflate very firmly to create a rigid, integrated hull that delivers surfing and turn carving performance comparable to hard-shell kayaks. Thigh straps, which are standard equipment, provide precise control and allow Eskimo rolling as well. Weighing a scant 25 lbs., Safari packs into its own drybag/backpack small enough for the kayak to be an airline carryon. This same drybag/backpack fits behind the Safari seat for dry storage when paddling.
