The Journey is the flagship line for Jackson Kayak Rec and Touring.

This beautiful craft was designed by David Knight, and he threw everything he had in order to create the perfect balance of performance with just enough stability so everyone that paddles this boat excels in the sport.

The Journey series comes in 2 sizes (Journey 13 and 14) for 2009. These two sizes are designed to paddle at the same speed, but offer a sizing solution for a wide variety of people. As you can see they have 3 hatches, ample deck rigging, sweet cheeks, and a super comfy back band. The Journey comes standard with the “Smart Tracker” rudder system, but is also available in a non-rudder build. For those not familiar with Smart Tracker, they are an aftermarket name brand that we found to be the best rudder system in the field, so it earned it’s way into the standard build! Very cool…

At Jackson Kayak our goal is to inspire confidence and this boat does this as good or better then anything we have produced yet. Notice the knee placement is a bit higher then other brands… this allows for a much easier, responsive and stronger roll. Also, check out the functional deck lines. There is a reason for every shape on the deck and each aspect has been thoroughly thought out.

For the Journeys we are creating an upgraded version of our “Sweet Cheeks” seating system. This will have special advantages for lifting the legs solidly into the knee wells for a tight, but supple fit. There is a molded in paddle recess for entering/exiting from shore and a place to store you paddle while relaxing out on the water.
