The recreational kayak has just been re-invented with the onset of Jackson Rec’s Day Tripper line and you can expect more from your paddling experience then ever before.

The Day Trippers are the new face of what to expect in comfort, versatility and access to the great outdoors. These kayaks are fantastic for folks that like to bring kids or a dog along with them on occasion but don’t want a full tandem. They are perfect for those that used to be in canoe’s but want to try kayaking. They also create the perfect platform for catching more fish… And for those looking to escape to the quite side of the lake, but don’t want to leave the creature comforts behind such as tents, coolers, and picnicking items, the Day Tripper provides the carrying capacity for everything you could need. Basically the Day Trippers are designed to be just what you want from a kayak… fun, super comfortable and easy to paddle, with a ton of options for whatever you might want to do when paddling.

The Day Trippers truly are different and are ushering in a fresh experience for those looking for more out of their recreational kayak. Their focus is on providing the room and versatility required for anyone that wants to bring the vast array of items that help make the experience on the water that much better.

Want to bring your dog along? There is plenty of room for the dog maybe even two!

Want to bring a child along? Just attach the “Kids Seat” (Summer 2008) for an instant tandem that allows to bring your child along for a great day paddling…

Want to go camping? With the included Jackson Rec dry bag for camera’s and other dry equipment, as well as the removable “Elite Seat” for camping/picnicking, you have the best outfitted kayaks in the market…

Want to go kayak fishing? The 2008 “Day Tray” is the answer to the perfect workbench for attaching multiple rod mounts, fish finders, GPS units, you name it. It even has a built in tackle box.

Sizes:
The Day Trippers come in 2 adult sizes and also a specially designed child’s size...

In 2008 the Day Trippers come in two versions… The Day Tripper and Day Tripper Elites.

The standard build comes highly outfitted with:
•Foot braces adjustable from your seat
•Our legendary “Sweet Cheeks” bean bag seating
•Super comfy adjustable seat back
•A large Jackson Rec branded dry bag
•Off the floor cargo netting storage
•Our uniquely own “Day Tray”, for fishing, duck hunting, or simply just to hold your soda!

The Elite’s are the flagship model of the Day Tripper line and comes with all the above but swaps the “Sweet Cheeks” seating for our super comfy and removable beach chair design, the “Elite Seat”.

The Day Tray:
The Day Tray is a sliding workbench that is completely removable and allows for the paddler to work with it close to their lap and to then push away towards your ankles when not using it. It makes bird watching, taking pictures, and fishing super easy. Although the Day Tray can be used for just about anything, it has specially built items to make fly fishing from the seat of the kayak very easy. It’s got it’s own stripping basket that also doubles as a fish net for getting the hook out of the mouth and not injuring the fish prior to release. Also built in is a great sized tackle box for a day or two of fishing.
