PLAYAK description:

The first Riot boat ever.

Riot was still called 'Rip International' back then. Shortly after Corran Addison left Savage, he got together with the Canadian Savage distributor Jeff Rivest and created Rip International. The idea was to make revolutionary kayaks and rip it up internationally.

Riot/Rip made an underground video shot mostly on the Lachine wave. Until then, nobody had ever seen seen flatspins on green waves - certainly not clean hand 360's and endless side surfs on green waves... The video clearly marked Corran's proof-of-concept of the planing kayak hull.

The Rage was made with all sorts of laminated materials, from arimid/allied coretex (18 lbs / 8.1 kg) to epoxy/glass fibre/nylon hybrid (35lbs / 15.9 kg).

Here's the official marketing text from those days:

Highly temperamental, extremely sensitive to the slightest movement or current, and capable of doing things that even I haven't discovered. This kayak is not for everyone, in fact it's not for most, but if you are tired of doing cartwheels, then this is the kayak that will take you to the next level. Blunts, Shuvvits, Olie Oops, Helio's and Switches are moves that only this kayak will do on command. Three point cartwheels on green waves, and power induced tricks are what it is about. Clean 360 spins on a green wave without taking a stroke, and cut-backs that send 5 feet of spray into the air as the G forces build.
