I compared the Ronin Pro to the Stohlquist Xtract, Astral Green Jacket and Salus Torrent. I would have been happy with the Astral as well but it was another 80$ and with the Ronin already being 200$ i went with it. It is a really good jacket that I give full marks to... as long as it fits. I did add a 1" quick release cam loop on the left side of mine, I really like keeping my rescue tether/cow tail on my left side. Being right handed I prefer my dominant hand controling the paddle when I'm trying to clip into a boat, so i carry my cow tail to the left.

About Me
Class III - IV Paddler. 6'1" 200 lbs
Pros / The Good
Extremely comfortable with excellent mobility. Easy to adjust and get a really nice comfortable snug fit. All the sewing and materials seems to be top notch. I did exchange the included rescue belt for a North Water one. The stock belt was made of a very rough nylon webbing and didn't slide through the sleeves as smoothly as I'd like when releasing.
Cons / The Bad
The sizing seems a bit wonky to me. I'm not a really small guy, however the S/M Ronin Pro fits me well, in fact i can bottom out all of the adjustments if I really tighten them down hard. I think this might eliminate some smaller paddlers from being able to wear this vest. I looked at an XXL at my local shop and it is absolutely huge... It would float a Horse.
