Dec 7 Social Instagram #Repost @kenhoeve with @repostapp ・・・ Colorado has some of the best paddling options. Tonight I was able to get out on Lake Dillon before it freezes. One of the many kayaking locations we are fortunate to have locally. This past summer I was contacted by a network and Red Bull athlete @jtholmesjr to be featured in 30 minute episode of The Line. The focus of the episode was to really show and explain the different disciplines of standup paddling and kayaking with a focus on whitewater. I put the link in my bio here on IG. If you have the time and are interested in our type of paddling, have a look. It's the rough cut but wanted to share as I believe they told the story of mountain paddling and life well. Thanks very much JT. I really appreciate all the time you put in to it. #standuppaddle #whitewater #ocean #river #fish #supfishing #sup #gopro #riverlife #jacksonkayak #kayak #wernerpaddles #kokatat #builtforthewild #beer #bonfirebrewing #mountainlife #surftech #paddleboard #television #broadcast #outdoors #flyfish #namaslay #coloradogram #mountains #life

Dec 6 Social Instagram ° by @kenhoeve. 2/4 In addition to selecting the location I was also asked to recruit three like minded thrill seekers to go along. They're were several factors that went into finding just the right paddlers. Their knowledge of rivers was important but I also wanted to make sure they were willing to deal with the logistics of the shoot, be willing to deal with quickly changing conditions and falling temperatures but also appreciate the trip and opportunity as much as I did. But at the top of the list I wanted paddlers that were fun to be around and would make the excursion and broadcast even more special. My first call went to @annabelanderson. While she is known to many as being one of the fastest paddlers on the planet I chose her for her 'getting after it attitude' and willingness to try just about anything. She is a tenacious racer and competitor but I also know her for her ability to bring humor into any situation. She's really funny and I always enjoy seeing her at events on the tour. There is no doubt as to her paddling abilities but I knew she would make the campfire chats hilarious. Next was my longtime friend @derrickdreyer. He and I kayak class V nearly everyday in the summer and he was originally chosen to safety kayak. He is a beast when it comes to running rivers or anything else in the mountains for that matter. And anytime you are around the guy he will have you laughing. I wasn't worried about his skills on the board and knew he needed to be along on this one. Plus he always encourages irrational endeavors and will be there to bail you out when things go astray. And to round out the team I chose @gilliangibree. She and I have been friends for several years and while she is known for her namaste prowess as a SUP yogi, I consider her one of the best all around paddlers on the planet. She is an avid adventurer and traveler and had done another show for the Travel Channel with me this spring when we did the first SUP descent of the upper Hudson River in New York. She has a wonderful and positive spirit and had already proven herself as a river woman and mountain lover. She made the trek to Jackson on very short notice and stomped every rapid.
Dec 6 Social Instagram ° by @kenhoeve. 1/4 While I love all types of stand up paddling, river running is by far my favorite. Hoping on moving water is an incredible way to travel along the valley floor while checking out the majestic mountains here in the high country. In September I was fortunate to receive a call from NBC Sports to pick a National Park and river to paddle for this Sunday's episode of their program Wold of Adventure. The choice was simple, Grand Teton National Park. Home to the Wild and Scenic Snake River. The dream location to have an adventure with four days and fifty miles of paddling and camping. I have been to this area many times in the past and knew it would be an ideal location to capture how incredible it is to paddle, camp and explore the park and river.
Dec 6 Social Instagram ° by @kenhoeve 4/4 This photo is another from Jackson Lake on the way to camp on Elk Island. And that spot lived up to its name. In the middle of the night we had a massive bull come right up to our camp site and start bugelling! Such an erie sound. Like a weird scream that is absolutely unmistakable. The program airs this Sunday the 29th on NBC Sports at noon eastern. It really shows why we love this sport so much. The travel, different disciplines, scenery and spirit of adventure were all beautifully captured and will hopefully inspire others to head to the Tetons next summer. It's such a spectacular place and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it with such a great group of friends.
Dec 6 Social Instagram ° by @kenhoeve 3/4 On the third day we were well into the class III-IV section of the Snake. While the water is lower in September there are still plenty of fun rapids along this stretch. In this picture @gilliangibree is dropping into the famous Lunch Counter rapid. At higher flows there is an awesome standing wave here that is arguably one of the best river surf waves in the World. But on this day she was styling multiple laps in order for the production company to get just the right shot. Viewers should love this segment of the show as the river is so beautiful thru here and the excitement of river running is obvious to everyone.

Dec 3 Social Instagram I'm very lucky to have this stretch of river only a few miles from my house. This time of year you have the place to yourself.
