Hello

I was thinking the other day what C1 seats are in production these days..

1) Drakar
2) Dagger ????
3) Perception ???
4) The one on the front page of playak ???

People always claim there is no maket to make them and I can see the point but it is a shame

FYI: this seat by Markus Maas just shifted from the front page. You can find it here:

I have the Dagger seat, which I bought off a friend for £30. It made things a bit easier, as it just slots under the foam, and bonding it down with a couple of patches evo-stick holds it in place, so converting back to a kayak shouldn't be too hard.

However, I have spent £20 on foam for the bulkhead, and I am still not happy with the outfitting, so I think I will be putting in some hip pads. The Velcro straps are crap, and so I will be after getting some webbing and buckles, which will cost be another £20. The strap positioning isn't very good in the kit, so I will have to drill some more holes and move the bottom mounting points. At the moment the top mounting points are using the holes left by removing the kayak seat, but I will be moving those back too.

If it wasn't for the fact that I got the kit cheap, I would probably have done it myself from scratch, or more likely never done it at all.

Not sure, I know a friend of mine paddles a Robson TwinTip (the predecessor of the TT) as C1 and he is 1.85 and about 82 kilo's. He has no problems at all so I guess it could work?

Another description of how to make yourself a C-1 seat: www.deepsouthc1.blogspot.com

(I found this on the cboats.net forum).

Cheers,

Michiel

90 kg and Robson twintip. Thats no fun only in a pool or hydraulics , but on a wave or river - forget it!!
Regarding outfitting: I have the same foams for knees and butt since many boats. That's no problem at all. The problem are the hip snappers, which makes me crazy any time I change the boat. I would appreciate a hip grabber made by thermoplast , that I can adjust it from boat to boat....

I paddle a Robson TT as a C1. I´m 183cm and 83kg.I think for freestyle the boat is Ok but for riverrunning it doesn´t work, it´s too small. Perhaps take a look at the new Riot Astro58, that fits better.
For the seat I use foam, that works. For the hips, I have HipSnappers from Robson, that works also quite good.
regards
Jakob
