Zero to hero 18 years 6 months ago #10080

Hi people,

i'm trying to learn the zero to hero, i've got a pyranha s8 and a jackson allstar, both of which i can balance on the stern. However, i was wandering how to initiate the stern from the roll, then into the balance.

Anybody got a step by step guide for me to try?

Thanks, alan

Use half of a hip snap to bring the boat on edge so that you can slice the tip or your boat through the water. So... half of a hip snap and then CRANK on you paddle and keep your body in the water. The starting position is like the backdeck roll.

Good Luck,

The starting position is like the backdeck roll.

:naughty: The starting position for a Zero to Hero is the standard sweep roll.
The Party Trick is where you start like a back deck roll.

Unless you know a technique that most people are unfamiliar with, please share?

Party Trick is when you go from upside down to a bowstall in one movement
and a Zero to Hero is going from upside down to a stern stall in one movement.

Does that shed some light?

I believe that it is better to start in this position. Then move to the regular sweep position in one motion and initiate to the vertical move. The reason for this in my mind is that it allows you to perform more than one move from one starting point. It is more flexible to practice this way and functional in a real application setting. This is my opinion. There are many moves you can do from this position, adding this as the starting point adds more tricks to the bag.

Peace,
