Hiiiii,

As this christmas I shall be getting more money than presents I thought I'd treat myself to a new paddle as the 'Perception Zambezis' are heavy, ugly and have too much feather.

I was looking into Ty-Warp paddles, has anyone had any experiance with them, good or bad? I'd like to know some pros and cons before I buy.

I'm looking at the Beam 10 Bent Shaft: tywarp.com/beam_10.htm

Ash

We are going to carry them at work this season so I have seen some samples. They seem fairly heavy, I am comparing to Werner, and the blade shape is just done to give them a distinctive look. If i had money to buy a paddle I would buy a Werner. If I am selling a paddle I am, at least trying to, selling a Werner. For the price though they are the best, I have seen, composite paddle. We are carrying them so you can get a bent shaft for $250 Canadian. I asked about them a while ago. Here is the link to that thread playak.com/index.php?option=com_joomlabo...d=9945&catid=107

Wow £113 for a bent shaft Werner?

They cost lots more here. What model are they and how much would postage be from Canada to UK?

Do you have a website where they're this cheap or are you personally selling them?

Ash.

Im using a Tywarp for about one year and for this price its almost perfect. I use it for playboating and I run class V rivers with it and i had no problems yet. Of course its a bit heavier than a werner, but a new werner would cost _much_ more and I personally wouldn't trust on a used paddle.

Ash i think hes tlking about the tywarps at that price. ALso the postage and Import tax will bring the price right up thats the main reason why the lovely paddles from the USA cost more over here plus taxing is different.

Also if you had a problem then you would have o probably get thwm back to the country you bought them from as the would be a grey import so that could be an issue too!

Import tax is around 22% or so plus you will have to pay to fill in the paper work its probably not worth it

Have fun

Sorry I took so long. Yes I was talking about the cost of a tywarp. I asked the shipper at work about shipping a ww paddle to europe and she said it would be very cost prohibitive. She wasn't sure on the exact cost but said it would be very expensive.

If you still want to look into it you can get paddles at my store's website www.westerncanoekayak.com We don't have tywarp listed yet because we don't have them in stock. We do have more paddles than are listed in stock we just don't list online if we only have 2 because we can easily sell them in store just as they are being ordered on line. If you emailed me at work then I can tell you what we have in stock. [mail address protected from spambots with javascript] Check into the duties and shipping first though.
