the trick is that you already brace with the power side of your left blade before you actually flip, and then take over with your right blade.
If you're happy, you're successful.

Ahh yes i have seen people do this before. You do a cartwheel get it balanced on the nose and keep pushing down on your foot plates. when you get enough power you do a loop.

If i had the boat. oh if i had the boat.

stick with the i4 they will cartwheel on flat water slightly harder than a full on play boat but possible if you learn to cartwheel your boat then any playboat you get in future will be very easy its all down to using correct technique a bit of muscle and hours of practising double pump try 2 ends first and take your time and before long u should be doing it in no time! another handy thing to do is watch a playboating dvd such as Ken Whitings Playboating, Ejs Beginners/ advanced play boating al very usefull and give good advice

if u wanna cartwheel then just think of you being a pivet and let the boat go around u...i find that turning your head in the direction you wanna go helps and once uv go the hang of it u can jus do it so easily

4 got to mention the top hat roll or dry roll is quite simple it basically a reverse screw roll. u put ur head as far back as possible but i only realy use it after iv done a cartwheel because before u hit the water theres still a gap under the back of ur boat so just rember to be quick and keep ur head to the back of ur boat

I'm not sure about this, but isnt a top hat roll wer you have an object (EG a hat) and do a roll without the object getting wet? and a dry roll is wer your head doesnt get wet? perhaps I am wrong.

Thats what I know as a top hat roll Andrew. The idea being you place the hat on the bottom of you baot as you go over, and put the dry hat back on your head when you come up.

im getting close to keeping my head dry. ive got it down to just getting my face wet but i still trying.

i thought the idea of the top hat thing was that you can keep a hat on while you do the roll????

the Washout 2 video on here really helped me to understand the idea of the backdeck roll. peopel tried teaching me it and it is a wierd concept to try to explain when people are used to the screw roll.

The flatwater tricky whu is something you can try. And unlike the flatwater loop, you can probably do it in the I 4 with some practice. I have also witnessed a flatwater mcnasty and phonics monkey, but whenever I try them I just look like a dumbass and flip over.

good luck

master the back deck roll. Thats a fun one. Cartwheels, and then try to just get the form down for a loop just don't worry about getting all the way over.
