paddles 18 years 4 months ago #11873

my paddles at the moment are really bad. Looking at getting new ones very soon. I've used the werner paddle guide thing and it suggested the player carbon paddle. My question is.. which is better, player or sidekick? I'm not a very experienced playboater, would i really notice the difference?

Ive been using my players for just over a year and love them. Feel really nice to use, solid, strong and i like to think they've made me a much better playboater... I believe the sidekicks are for the stronger paddler, with the larger blade area. I think if u are not as strong enough for the sidekicks then they might tire you out a bit faster than the players

thanks guys. Also, when choosing size i've heard its always better to go for shorter paddles when playboating, is this true?

Yes, shorter paddles are meant to be easier to play with, as they dont get in the way as much and are easier to throw around in theory. With 191's (i think) i find they are short enough to easily play with, but also good if i do any paddling trips without getting too tired
