Do you think freestyle kayaking should be in the olympics? Yeah why not.



Why do you think that?
Well freestyle kayaking is a sport, it's growing in popularity and i think it would encourage more people to take up the sport.


Why would someone take the opposite view? Maybe some people ( crazy people) don't like kayaking, or don't see it as a worthwhile sport.


Would you watch freestyle kayaking in Olympics? Yes i would.

Do you think freestyle kayaking should be in the olympics? No



Why do you think that? I don't think that it is an olympic type sport. It's about doing tricks not about pushing ones body to it's limits. Sports like marathon running and down hill skiing are about strength and skill. Freestyle kayaking has no real world application the way slalom kayaking does. In addition, nearly all of the athletes are from the US or Europe. It takes so much equipment and people in less affluent areas would be unable to participate. Soccer only takes a ball and that it hard enough for some people to get.



Why would someone take the opposite view? Someone might disagree with me because they see a lot of new sports being admitted into the Olympics that are similarly questionable. They forget to look at the past of the olympics to see what kinds of sports the Olympics began with in order to maintain the Olympic and spirit.

Do you think freestyle kayaking should be in the olympics? Hell yeah, so many people have no idea that kayaking is something that everybody can do and enjoy, it's not like everybody will enjoy it, but there could be the next eric jackson out there sitting on the couch and he never knew it. or knew of kayaking.





Why do you think that?
kayaking is a world wide sport, you can get \"air\" in the ocean, irrigation ditch, play park and biggest canyons: one can kayak in almost every counrty in the world! boats and other gear may not be readily availabe in every country but thats why theres the internet.

because they like to damn up rivers, they might think it looks boring, same reason i wouldn't watch olympic diving
