Palmer Rapids, ON, January 26, 2007– Chaltrek & Ostrom Outdoors presents the world premier of the second annual Reel Paddling Film Festival at the Finlandia Club in Thunder Bay on February 10 at 6:30 p.m.
The Reel Paddling Film Festival is an international event showcasing the best of whitewater, sea kayaking and canoeing films from around the world. The premiere kicks off the 2007 World Tour that travels for the rest of the year screening in 70 cities across North America, Europe and the U.K.
Scott MacGregor, the creator of the festival, attended Lakehead University’s Outdoor Recreation program and is excited about the premiere in Thunder Bay. “Thunder Bay is the perfect padding town. I learned to whitewater paddle there, got my education there and then sea kayaked home to Hamilton at the end of it all,” remembers MacGregor. “After everything I learned and took away from the area, it’s fun to be sending something back.”
With more than 30 films on the short list for the World Tour, including the six festival category winners, audiences can expect to see whitewater action, sea kayaking adventures, canoe expeditions, international travel paddling films, documentaries and shorts capturing the lighter side of the paddling lifestyle.
