I would like to know some opinions about the helmet. Is it really the \"safest whitewater helmet in the world\"?

I would say that it is the safest helmet in it's price class. It's a well made helmet with good energy absorbing capabilities. It is however a half cut helmet.

I use a Sweet Rocker full cut when I want to give my head the most protection possible. A full cut helmet just gives you more protection when you need it. Sweet is also a well respected company who make good helmets that are unfortuately more expensive.

Shread ready and happy 2b also make good helmets which a lot of boaters use in the upper price range. People could also argue that these manufacturers make the \"safest whitewater helmet in the world\" but I think that it depends a lot on the shape of your head as well as your personal taste.

Regardless which helmet you use check that it can not be pushed back on your head, leaving your forehead unprotected, by water pressure. If it can be it doesn't matter how much you paid for it, it will be almost useless on the river!

Take it easy and be safe out there,

Definitely, without question. I would say that short of a full- fledged creeking helmet with full coverage (like a Rocker), it is the safest river running / play helmet out there, but I would want more coverage for heavy- duty steep creeking.

Just to give you an idea what a helmet is worth when it can be pushed back. I learned the hard way.
