Hey guys,
Is the Predator Lee any good as a helmet, plus can you buy them in the UK without importing it personally? Havn't seen many of them around, wondering what they are like.
cheers, Dolly!

From what I've heard they seem nice. Seems a bit harsh to call them a poor man's Strutter. :-) Why don't you send Matt a pm.

I have never tried one on but I believe they fit even very large skulls.

The Predator Lee is definitely a nice helmet. It took me a while to get the outfitting right, but now it fits good. I'd never pay something like 200 euros for a helmet, so this is a great deal!

Yea this is what i was thinking, seeing as i only need it for playing and surfing, it seems a good option!
Adrian, i didnt mean 'poor man's' as in any way derogatory....just it looks incredibly similar to a Sweet strutter and is well....a lot cheaper!

I think that PeakUK is the importer for Predator helmets in the UK.

They have a new address now in Nottingham have a look on the website:

I'd pay whatever it took to keep my head safe. It's fairly important to me.

Heh. Yeah, i agree with the above post.
But still, if your wanting to go for a cheaper option, you will get a decent helmet with the predator lee, they're quite big though ( one size fits all kind of thing)
I'd quite like to try one to see how it is, a guy i know had one shipped over from the US, and was \"pleasantly suprised\", in his words :)

Thanks for your opinions guys, i think when i have some cash i will be getting one!

looks like if you want one you will have to order for Predator

I PMed Matt from Predator (thanks for the link adrian!) and he says that shipping to England is around $30, the Lee is only $89.95, so at $119.95, that isn't too bad a price, though you won't be able to try it on first.

Do you get charged import and V.A.T in the uk?Because in ireland if you order anything from outside the EU you do and for $120 id have to pay €40 when it would be delivered. But still is cheap for that if its good,Anyway even if its not it still looks dam cool :D

Dude, you get what you pay for. The reason sweet's cost is so high is that they are expensive to make. Buy a used boat or paddle, but pfd's and helmet's you shouldnt skimp on. I'm on my second strutter and am thankful I have it every time I tag a rock. Ive busted my shoulder from hits that also got my head, but the head was fine. If youre looking for a good cheap helmet check out WRSI. FNA also makes some cool helmets and you've got Happy 2b in europe, not too cheap, but cool looking as well.
