Well, it seems you are smaller than I am (215 pounds with normal safety gear and winter gear), and prefer play boats ( I am an OLD creeker and sea kayaker).

I've tried out a 4-20 and it was way too small for me - submarineing if I leaned forward and aggessively paddled. Toes were also just way too cramped into the very end. Also tried out a Master TG and about 20 other riverrunner and playboat types without finding anything that suited me.

My kayaks include a still strong old Hollowform River chaser in black Marlex CL100 plastic ( I used to work for a distributor in the early 70's), and a Savage Skreem. Before that I had made 25 kayaks, mostly Lettman MkIV's, V's, and VI's. I also had a Perception Sage C1, and a Sedavik C2.

Boats I have lusted over but not purchased for various reasons, mostly money at the time, included an OverFlow X, a Prijon Hercules, the Pyrahna Burn, H3, H2, the Wavesport Habitat, Dagger Nomad, Wavesport Y.

Own a Perception Carolina, and love it for it's stability and overall versatility, and the fact that I can put ANYONE in it. Same for my Mad River Endurall. After serveral hundred trips in the Carolina, I am considering a Riot Regency hoping to get greater speed for the same energy output. Carolina hits a brick wall about 5.5MPH. Tried an lPerception Eclipse, and it just didn't do it on a measured course - no faster and much tippier. I can handle the tippiness with no problem, but with no added speed, why accept the negative tradeoff for zero gain, more money and length. Have tried a friend's Prijon Kodiak and his Epic carbon fiber 18'. Nice boats, but still prefer the Carolina so far. Carolina rolls better too, even with a rudder.

Don't know where you are going with the data, but hope this is what you were asking for.

If you are a young whippersnapper who hasn't tried what we used to use, don't snort your shorts over the Hollowform. I've run the Chattooga 400X, section Zero of the Chattooga once, Overflow about 20 times, the Meadow twice, the Gaulley 25x and the Emory-Obed system at 81,000CFS in it. and my wife and I took our honeymoon kayaking the Colorado in them. Did 70+ rivers and creeks in the US, east coast and west coast in the Lettmans and the Hollowforms.

I think you don't paddle all of these boats yourself ;)

My top 5:

Polo: Kayaksplus Vampire 2001
Polo: DPP Dynamic
