Hi Everyone:
Last season and this winter we (The Cornwall Recreational Whitewater Club and it's parent group Adventure Sports Access Group, a not-for-profit organization) put over 100 kids into kayaks during several free events in the Cornwall and surrounding area in Eastern Ontario.
These are kids who do not have the resources that our own children have access to!
Watching them on the water (in pools and on local rivers) has been a most rewarding experience for myself, my familly and our club members.
This year (2007 Season) we are working to do more and see more of these kids in the water.
Through our sport we can show these kids that there is more to life than the often narrow horizon that they see.
These kids leave us with a positive experience and a smile on their faces. Who can ask for more?!?!?
The club currently has access to 10 kayaks, and gear (provided by myself), free instruction, as well as support.
However these events come with a cost and in order to allow more kids to particiapate we also need more gear.
If you are interested in helping us provide a kayaking experience to more of the kids, from the various youth groups in the region, and have gear (boats, paddles, pfds, helmets, booties, etc) that you do not use or are looking to get rid of, drop us a line.

Please help us to share this great sport with less fortunate children.

All donations (equipment, or financial) are welcome and are tax deductible.

That's a GREAT cause! I've done a little bit of wilderness adventure trips with kids from less privileged backgrounds, and it does absolute wonders for them.
