are they deep or are they just surface bubbles. Some boats get small bubbles in the modling process. I don't know if it's the molding itself or the plastic, but I've seen a few brands that have had boat that had mini bubbles on the surface of the plastic. IN all of these cases it's just on the surface and does not affect the strength of the boat.

If you are talking about something else, then I don't know.

Without seeing a picture, in all probability, the bubbles were there before. Either you did not notice them or they were filled with some kind of wax/polish/ surface treatment and aren't now. Shouldn't be structural, just cosmetic. If you don't like them, just wax over. The bubbles were probably very minor surface defects, most likely from out gassing of the mold release agent or from contaminents in the mold during the molding process. Either one can cause this. Rare to have contaminated polymer, although that too can happen. (was once engineer in very large Polymer plant, 20 years in textiles, and have worked in kayak rotoforming plant as a fill in operator)

Bubbles are usually only serious when foaming in the mold leads to a reticulated foamed structure that leaks, and this is usually also weaker and brittle. That can happen due to a hot spot in the mold like if mold repaired inproperly or again due to contaminents. Plugged outgassing vent in a mold can also promote them. May not be in todays type molds, but I know it used to be. If this is case, you have a problem and need to talk to who ever sold you the boat.

Best of luck, Eric - aka Beaverman
