I'm fixing to get one or the other. I can get either for the same price. The Mamba has a littlemore cockpit size( I'm 225 lbs) .Any comments? Thanks :)

I'm now the importer in the USA for DragoRossi, so have an obvious preference for those boats. But, if given the choice between the two that you are thinking of, I'd go for the Mamba. The Diesel feels a bit boxy to me and I feel that the Mamba can make more subtle adjustments.

Of the two boats you have mentioned I would also pick the Mamba, I've paddled one for two years and found it to be very good. However I recently got a Jackson Rocker and it is way ahead of the Mamba as far as comfort, ease of adjustment and weight of the boat. It paddles a little differently to the Mamba due to it's displacement hull but I'm really happy with it. Worth checking out.

I was looking at the Mega Rocker first. I thought the hull design of the Mamba or Diesel would be better for me. The Mamba was my first choice of the two. Thanks for the comments :)

I don't want to confuse you about the boat you are thinking of, because you are onto prbably a good decision. But, have you considered the Critical Mass?

I was in a Mamba 8.5 a few weeks ago demoing it. I really liked it and I'm used to paddling a LL Huck for creeking. The Nomad was noticably faster, the outfitting was nice and it handled very well. I gave it a series of rolls early on and later just to goof off a little and I liked the way it felt rolling. I was in a 2006 model, there was a 2007 8.1 there also. The outfitting for 2007 has some great improvements to the features such as; two small storage areas under the seat (cell phone or cigarettes in a dry box maybe) and the back of the seat was lower so you had much easier access to the rear area of the boat.

I've also heard a lot of great things as someone else said about the new Jackson Rocker. I understand the 2007 model is supposed to have some major improvements from the feedback they received.
