how much are you looking to spend??? as you can pick up quite nice playboats for around £500 such as the Gforce or 4 twenty with functional but basic outfitting or if your looking around the £750 mark EZG, Ronin, 4twenty, Project etc for play

Personally I would prob reccomend getting a boat with more riverrunning potential as it will be comfier, easier to paddle down a river and still play as well, unless you can do super doopa aerial combos (which i doubt living in the Uk) then a fullon playboat will not offer you much more in performance and will probably hinder you more when you come to paddling harder river sections as you progress with your club!

the retail price of the boat is £550 but this company are selling it for £420! so i think its a great offer to take.

i love the igo, but you have to know its limitations: it's slow as hell, and the stern catches very easily.

but it's my favorite boat for easy ww and pool trainings. i can get the boat vertical with one stroke from standstill. and it's extremely comfortable. very simple and light outfitting, yet very effective. for my full review of the boat, with all pros anbd cons, look here:

i really think each club should get an igo. the street price for them is really low and it's the favorite boat at our club's pool sessions, especially with the ladies, as it's about the only boat they can get vertical in the pool...

another con is that it's sort of an anti status symbol, bet i don't personally care about such things :)

I think the Igo is a great boat for messing about on the flat in, it feels as easy to throw around as my squirt boat (although obviously not as stable on end). It is also good for small playspots but on a reasonable river or at a large munchy playspot then it is a nightmare! They seem to sub out on even the smallest drop (i.e. 1'-2'), the tail is so short that you go over it a lot (backloop city) and it has no speed whatsoever to get you where you want to be. I would not really recommend this boat unless it is making up part of a quiver of boats to suit all circumstances, that said I am still looking out fora dirt cheap second hand one to join my 6 other boats as there is a small local playspot that I thinkk would be ideally suited to the Igo.

How about one of Dagger's High Noon series (Showdown, Outlaw or Honcho depending on your size) Good allrounder that will not limit you you on rivers but is still quite playful and available on a budget, IMHO.

Otherwise buy a boat second hand.

I agree! :)
I used some years ago in a class II river. I'm still learning in playboating, anyway it was very easy to put it in vertical position... too easy i should say.

Then when we arrived to a serious play hole i didn't dare to enter it with the Igo.
