A friend of mine manufactures custom decals. He made hotwheel decal for my son's Jackson 2Fun. The red decal look good on the yellow boat. His friends at the kayak club think it looks reaaly great. (My boy is 9). When we meet other paddlers on the rivers it seems to be a hit too.
I am making a new kevlar helmet ( a copy of the strutter) and when it is done we will design some custom decals for it. (pictures will be forthcoming).

Do you think spray painting them will work??? my brother does quite good pics and i'm thinking of letting him loose on my boat when hes back from uni. If I do i'll post a pic.
I think pimping them up is a great way of hiding all that unwanted hull decoration too (big scratches), but i don't want to go to far, so that sticking all them things on will change the performance.

I put paint on my boat and it is staying just fine....then again it is not on the bottom of the boat! It wasn't normal paint tho....it was paint epoxy used for appliances (to paint stoves and refridgerators). It hold up strong. I lighten it up quite a bit too by cutting out plastic and drilling holes....I guess that is pretty much 'pimpin you ride' as much as you can when it is a kayak :roflol:

Be careful with paints as plastics dont tend to like solvents you could make your boat very weak under the paint or worse could burn a hole through it

Ive tried putting a few stickers on my boat (including one which said 'follow me to certain death', that was pretty cool.), but theyve all fallen off except one. I got a mate to paint up my lid too, which he used oils and then car lacquer for, and it looks ok, but tends to look faded when dry. Id recommend car paints or similar for that sort of thing as they can take scratches better than most and give a glossy finish.

just wanted to bring this topic back to life as i've come up with an idea!!!
so far all that's been talked about is decorating boats, but to realy pimp it, why not have sum pimpin music blastin' out of your boat? or even some punk, Jeroen?? (see past topics)
i've been looking at some waterproof speakers designed for yachts and other small boats. i would love to fit some in my kayak, this would definatley turn a few heads and could set the mood for some good kayaking. i suppose they would have to be well padded with foam, as they may be subject to a bit of bashing, and well positioned so weight distribution is not effected too much.
Someone with a bit of money please bring my idea to life!!!
here's one site i found.... www.marine-audio.com

Make the Speaker face outward. Make sure you have a big enough kayak for you that you can not go over the weight limit

yeah most things you get are covered in stickers like paddles, boats and evrything else you buy in shops where they can advertise themselves.
i think they're great! but only because i love peeling them off, its so satisfying! :O ahhhhhhhhhh..... but im just wierd.
so yeah, i don't see why you have a problem getting them off. you can buy a liquid that u can pour onto them to get rid of all the stickeyness but i think just a gud bit of scratching and elbow grease is fine!

Hey its me again!! this has become my fave topic now!! haha
after a discussion in the chat room i had another idea.... glow in the dark boat!!!
im sure you can buy like glow in the dark paint, but a company definatly should make a boat out of glow in the dark plastic, not only would it look cool but would b v practical at night!

All of this decorating is all nice and well, but I love it when I find a boat that is beautiful how it is, I think my Dagger Superego os the best looking boat I have ever seen, it is a nice green and blue swirly... you can kind of tell in the pic. But what do you guys think? what is your favorite looking boat?
