project 52 or 62??? 18 years 1 week ago #14856

I think I'm right on the edge and was wondering if there are peopel who are like me who have had a chance to paddle the two sizes of Wavesport Project. I am 6\"1, 180 Lbs with size 12 feet. Everything I have read is that it would be a tight fit in the 52 but possible...maybe...or maybe not...any words of advice???

PS if anybody is looking to sell one in the States let me know (and don't plug your boat as the size I need to sell it :)

Hi,
I tested the projects, jackson all star and dagger agent. I am 175, inseam 32 and size 10 feet. You will not fit your feet in the project 52! I fit the Agent 6.2, you may be tight, but it be worth trying cause at your eight you would toss it around! You will however fit the agent 6.4 easily. They are sweet boats and much faster then the projects. In the all star you would be tight, outfitting not as comfy as wave sport or dagger. You would fit the super star...when it is available. Hope this helps. Good Luck,

Thanks, That does help! It sounds to me like you are an agent over project fan? Just faster or other reasons as well? Again thanks for the imput.

I would choose the project over the agent. The agent is defenetly faster, however, it is difficult to release from play waves. I can airblunt and even the occasional donkey flip on our local 3-4 foot wave. The project has an awsome hull that loves to hop around. The agent was totaly stuck to the waves surface and i could not get it to release. Our local dagger paddler isn't looking to hot in it either. She looks best in the Kingpin. My good friend who used to paddle for wavesport was thinking about moving to dagger, but he also tried the agent and didn't care for it too much. He paddles a ZG. I like the project; however, i do unterstand it has flaws. I personaly haven't talked to anyone who loves it yet. Talk to the WS paddler Mike Mathwin, he's a pretty big dude (180-190) and he's in the 52. he r4emoved the thigh braces to fit and expanded the bow for foot room.

Thanks Nathan,
Do you know the contact for Mike Mathwin or how I can get my hands on it? And thanks for the review. That is what I have been hearing about the project. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Try posting on one of the Local paddler forums. Localpaddler.com He would be in the MD/DC/VA type local forum. Or Just go to the ask a Local paddler forum. He uses Redneck asian or mIke18 handle I think. I looked on his WS bio. He's 175 lbs and 6 ft
