This video shows launching, beaching and paddling in various ice conditions. The most dangerous part is pushing the W kayak on thin ice.

I don't mean to be to negative, but I don't get it. What is this guy trying, and why would anyone film him doing this, and why would anyone think of sharing the video.

Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm crushing some ones spirit, this looked kinda stupid and the guy is wearing jeans and a shirt. I hope the water was warmer than it looked.

I think this is promotion of a new boat thing as the other post is the same kind of thing, bit annoying as he paddles streight through the surf line up, I am surprised no one had a go at him but the boardied did not look amused. The thing looks weak and as you say kinda pointless. note the way it flops around.

I am with you whats the point?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

The Wavewalk appears to be back. Maybe if this product was aimed at the holiday market as an alternative to sit on tops it would not bug me so much but the fact that this pile of junk is marketed at serious paddlers generally with totally ridiculous statements about how it is better of safer than far better boats really gets on my nerves.

I got's to get me one of those things. They look cool and as advertised \"Fun to paddle in rough waters\"

Check out the website, www.wavewalk.com/ and see the guy who looks like hes doing #2 in the rough waters. And with the Wavewalk there are no more rudders, those damn rudders are always bugging me.

Well we shouldn't judge others for being innovative, but I think it's ok to laugh :roflol:

I would agree with you if this was the first time I came across Wavewalk but sadly I have had this product rammed down my throat on various forums for at least a year now (probably longer). It is the way the product is marketed that annoys me, the maker once told me I could throw away my seven specialist kayaks (surf boats, squirt boat, play boat, creek boat etc.) and replace them all with one Wavewalk! What a load of crap!

I didn't see a video on their side with squirt boating moves in it, but that would be interesting to see :)

It certainly could not do the job of my squirt boat but then it could not do the job of any of my other boats either! The wavewalk in my considered opinion is a pile of junk not fit for any purpose apart from oversized door stop or interesting flower planter.

It looks like a bell boat, that he made a bit smaller and it looks like it would be fine on the flat calm duck pond but nothing else!

Im with Denzil, im sorry but that boat should be left in prototype stages or remarketed as a flat water alternative craft. Can a novice empty it in deep water and get back in on their own or would they have to swim to shore towing a submerged heavy boat?

That guy needs to accept its a bad idea and just give up, it cant do anything right other than on flat water. the only plus side i can see to it is for disabled persons, as a centre boat. but then whats wrong with an open canoe.
its just a waste of time, resorces and space.
