Maybe that can help you, this's a trailer of the last (new) video of David Arnaud.

Ok, the text is in french, but you can show the movie.

I'll ask David if an english version of his DVD is for sale...
Here you can find the synopsis of this DVD : www.methode-kayak.com/index.php/DVD

have fun !

im going to presume you do this move on your right hand side, but if not, just replace 'right' with 'left' where appropriate.

Ok, so youre on edge, balanced nicely. (paddling forwards can make this easier, but is by no means vital)

Initiate a strong paddle stroke on the right hand side. Not too much of a sweep, as you want all energy to go into vertical movement, not lateral.

As the sweep passes your hips, move your weight with the paddle until it is centered above your right butt-cheek, and simultaneously use your abdominal muscles to raise the bow of the kayak into the air.

From here, smash the paddle forward in the exact reverse of that you just did, throwing your weight to front of the boat. Aim to hit your left pec on your right knee. Imagine your feet slicing into the water beneath you.

It is this weight movement that is key. The paddle just helps. Afterall, thats where cleanwheels come in.

You probably wont have any trouble getting the first stroke in, but when you slam forwards, it is imperative that you put your weight behind it. If it feels strenuous, then youre not doing it right.

This move is effortless when done correctly.

Finally - before you get in, ensure that you stretch properly. Dont pay all your attention to your arms. The things that will hurt most are your legs and ur torso, so dont go in there unless your nice and limbered up.

Hope this helps,

Simon
