How long 18 years 3 days ago #15026

How long can you go without paddling before you cant sleep because you want to get out.

It takes about 3 weeks of no paddling before I will break down and paddle in a puddle if i have to!

About 2 weeks of the daily grind. If I am doing other things, hiking trip, then I can go longer but as soon as I get back I want to paddle.

That's because everything is dark and FROZEN!:yes:

For me, it's less than a week. Every week flat water and every weekend or second weekend, a river. Even if it's just some class 1/2

well, you can endure ofcourse if you have to but a month is a long time!

It's a good remark about the substitutes - those help to get \"even\" with the desire for paddling - i do biking and hiking.

You're a lucky man Nathan:!: I do envy you ;-)
:notworthy:

I'll just dream of having that near me. We've got loads of paddling here, but be prepared to drive hundreds of kilometers to get there.       I'll carry on dreaming when I move to Pietermaritzburg in Natal, which is less than an hour from world class spots and less than 100km from the sea too.   (at least my car wouldn't rust there:lol:)

I am lucky, but I will be luckier next year. I am going to college in Asheville, NC next year. 30 min from the Green River and close to tons of other quality class V. One of the only other cities on the E.coast of the US that is better for boating

About a week for me, i get all twitchy otherwise and always imagine being in a kayak...bouncing down a wave... it kills me inside.
To be honest though, it depends how much kayaking i've been doing before that, like i've been out on rivers 5/7 days this week a i'm going out tomorrow... so i'm having some down time soon.
