Looking for boats... 18 years 2 months ago #15218

My club is considering buying a creek boat and a play boat for people to try - but we only have about £500 to spend in total - could anyone offer suggestions? We are fine to go for 2nd hand or new.

I'd say go for a playboat that can run rivers as well, such as the Bliss Stick RAD or Fluid Flirt. That way the playboat can do double duty (nice for a clubboat). I guess the best option would be to go for a used RAD, these are pretty affordable these days (around 300 - 350 euro's should get you a decent one, this is about half of your budget or slightly below that I think).

As for creekers, I'm not really into this so I can't help you there. But if the creeker is just another river runner, go for another RAD :D

Oh, and if you buy the boats from a shop, perhaps they would consider sponsoring these boats so you can get some money off? It never hurts to ask ;)

Just my 2 cents,

Michiel

Good advice Michiel, nice.
I think your budget sounds a bit tight. A sponsorship would help loads. Think how you can help the manufacturer/shop etc. Advertising etc, then approach them with a workable solution.

You could go and get two boats within the budget but they may be far from ideal. Good luck. Boats older than 10 or so years are not as much fun as the newer designs.
