As far as i was aware, its a breather tube, on the mafia and critical mass, it runs into the sealed bulkheaded section in the back and enables you to breathe underwater, a friend of mine has a critical mass, but has not tried the breathing equiptment yet to see if it works, not sure how that will work on the stinger though?

The breathing tube is only standard equipment on the \"elite\" outfitted creek boats.

It is a largish tube with a one-way valve at the end so you can inhale but won't breath right back into it.
It goes under the seat and through the sealed bulkhead in the stern. I've played with it and the first breath can be a little bit wet, kind of like snorkelling, but once you purge that then you get a few really good, easy breaths.

What is really cool about it is how easily you can take the entire system out if you need to hand it over to a friend and feed it down to someone underwater. (not very deep obviously)

The Stinger is a nice boat. If you can fit into the seats I would highly recomment the \"performance\" seat (one size) or the Medium size in the \"elite\" seat. They seem to give the best butt/leg support and compliment the molded knee area quite well.

I have some reacent photos of people in the Stinger on small features on my blog.

also just did a quick outfit on a new Squash with all foam. It was exceptionally inexpensive.

clarkeoutdoors.blogspot.com/2007/05/fast...ayak-outfitting.html

It started raining so I have yet to put the finishing touches on it. Smooth it out some more. And, i'll put a nice skin coat of neoprene over everything to make a very comfortable performance race seat (kind of like a lowered Testarossa seat)

Two points I want to make before signing off.

1. this was super easy and cheap

2. it's finally raining here so I am glad I started outfitting the boat.

cheers im currently considering the stinger a necky chronic/orbit fish or a fluid flirt and to be the honest they all seem realy good i do quit a lot of flatwater stuff and i was wondering how good the stinger is to throw around on the flat ?
i know the chronic and the flirt are but they dont seem to be as good for begginers as the stinger the problem im having is finding boats to demo. what would you say would be the best boat to start white water in and also be used for flat out of the four ?
