Riot Dominatrix help! 17 years 10 months ago #15867

Hello,

I have a Riot Dominatrix, it's the first playboat i've purchased, (i had an old culb boat before my Riot). I'm not sure about it, i think i may be a bit too heavy for my boat, the stern seems to be submerged a lot of the time (on flat water), i've tried moving the seat, but now my bow digs in. Can this be resolved? or do i look for another boat?

Cheers

Dan

yup, there is the 41, 44 and 47, trouble is i don't know the size of my kayak, the logo has been taken off the stern with details of the model, all i know is that it's a domiantrix, one of the scouts in my local scout troop had one and recommended it to me. 'tis all i know!

Measure from the ground to the seat inset. If its about 1.5 inches its a 41, 2.5 a 44 and 3.5 a 47.

As for the bow perling, well that was all the rage back in the dom days. The boat has very little rocker, and was super fast for its lenght. I rerember paddling and with every stroke I would just raise my knee along with it. So instead of really paddling flat, I kept rocking the boat over at about a 20 degree angle. At first its wierd, but you get used to it and it becomes a habit. Being on edge will keep the nose from loading up on water, and it should paddle alot better for you.

I still have my Dom, I love that boat.
