Hi all, I am looking for a drytop becasue I will be doing some winter paddling this year. I found the Tropos for 208 US dollars, so I wanted to see if any of you had some feedback on it. The price it right, but I want to make sure I am not buying junk, or something that will not suit my needs. Thanks!

Kokatat's gear is top notch. The Tropos won't be as breathable as a gore-tex top, and it doesn't have the lifetime warranty, but it should still suit your needs very well unless you are doing some hardcore expedition paddling. I'd say go for it, I used a cheaper top for my first several winters of paddling.

I am new to whitewater paddling with about 2 months of experience now. I plan on running all winter in an effort to hit the class IV mark before the end of next summer. With that said, I will not be doing anything very hardcore, and I just want to stay as dry and warm as possible, so I am building up my wardrobe in preparation. I do not think I could convince the boss(wife) that I need to spend 300+ dollars on a drytop, but I think I can swing 200. Thanks for the input!

Any kokatat gear is awesome, only they aren' t available to us over here in the UK....:(

While I can't deny that Kokatat gear is great, if you are going to paddle that much the Gor-tex version of the same top might be a better option. It will last you longer.
