gear and volume 17 years 9 months ago #16546

i am trying to decide on either a 65 or 75 gallon boat (im on the border and can go either way). my question is this, how much more gear will a 75 gallon boat hold than a 65 gallon boat? the boat in question is a wavesport diesel.:ask:

First of i was on the border too and decided on the 75 it should be here today.
So i cant tell you from first hand experience with it yet but in the days to come i will let you know more about it.

that would be great, nothing like firsthand knowledge. im just wondering if it would be a difference of 1 day of food versus three days of food, or maybe needing to get a bivy sack versus bringing an ultra-lite tent, or a six pack versus a 12 pack for the end of the day.

Needledick,
As a suggestion go to wavesports website & find out the what the maximum weight capacity for the boat would be. Then calculate your weight & subtract it from the wavesports maximum weight. The figure that your left with is the maximum payload for the boat.

It may be that you have to weigh what you want to take on the bathroom scales so you don't go over your maximum limit. I've never personally paddled an overloaded boat, but those in the know tell me that the handling can be affected.

Hope you find what you're looking for,

Pete46:)
