I would recomend both Astral and Palm as companies that provide a quality product and have good warranties and dealer support.

I must agree with Taliesin38. I don't know about dealer support or anything like that but the quality is really good. I started with a Palm (extrem axis) and used it for 2 years and then bought another new one (exact same model). I got an Astral on my trip and have now been using it almost everyday for the last 3 weeks and was really happy with it. Good vests too. Very comfy.

I personally prefer the Astral and have been using the aquavest 300 for the last year. Very comfy, floats me has good safety features, Palms are well made aswell, but personally prefer astral

I have been wering the Astral aquavest 300 for the better part of this season... It is wothout a doubt the most comfortable pfd that I have worn, floats me well and doesnt ride up.

They are eco friendly too

get an Astral and I am sure that you wont be disapointed

I'm in the market for a new whitewater PFD & wasn't sure which brand to go for. I do like to be comfortable & also know that I can float well if things go wrong. especially as I have been known to fall out from time to time.

Do they have a website I could visit & browse.

Thanks Kindly,

Pete46:)

Look at hf Serpent, very comfortable, has three frontpockets, key hook inside pocket, strechable shoulder straps and is made out of heavy duty Cordura fabric. www.peglers.co.uk/4_HF-Serpent.htm

The only down side to the Hf serpant, was once you release the Chest harness (hopefully you won't need t use it) The buoyancy aid will slied around as it was the only thing keeping the tension on your body! Thats what put me off them. The Astral is very easy to adjust and does not rely on the chest harness to hold it in place, neither does the Palm but they have many straps which is too much faff for my liking. Go try some on and get one from your local dealer

Yes, thats right, there is lack of side straps. I noticed this too, when try to pull out harness on ground. BTW pulling harness out is hard, even without threading belt in metal plate.
