My partner and I are getting ready to invest in a recreational tandem kayak. We are trying to choose between the Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T and a Necky Manitou II. We do know that we want a rudder and our main considerations are comfort (she has had back surgery twice) and stability. We will be paddling mostly on mountain lakes in the Sierras and we will often contend with afternoon winds. We took a Pamlico out today and liked it. My main complaint is no foot rests for the forward paddler (me) and the seat doesn't feel as sturdy in the front. We have not paddled the Manitou, but it does appear less stable and may be more difficult for entry/exit for the forward (again, me) paddler, but the seats look amazing and it does have a true dry storage area. Can anyone assist me without us spending another $60 to try the Manitou out?
