Hi everyone. I\"m new to this board and new to the whole kayaking community. I'm looking into white water kayaking. Does anyone have any suggestions on boats and gear i should be looking into? Any recommendations for beginners? I live in Toronto so does anyone know of places to go? How much do boats range from. I'm not familar with boat brands so just wondering which companies makes boats? Sorry for the million questions. I tried it once and really want to dedicate my summer sport to kayaking. I live in Toronto Canada, so if anyone knows of any beginner classes around the area ping me. Thanks in advance.

Hey,

I don't know your proximity to Ottawa but I would highly recommend looking into the Matawaska (check sp.) Kayak and canoe school. You may find a link through American White Water, or just google search it. they are simply put the Best instructional school you'll find around. I have may friend who have travelled from KY just to attend. You can also look for used baots on Boatertalk.com, they will run from $300 - $700 depending on boat and condition. You might consider looking into a dagger GT, Wavesport X, Daggar RPM, Wavesport Deisel, Pyranha I:3 or M:3 series, Liguid Logic huck, hoss, lil joe, gus .... Basic look into a river runner, but use discrection and go to a Mfg. website to research the boat before buying.

Good luck, and happy paddling!
