Sprayskirt Question 17 years 8 months ago #17120

Hey I was reading an article on Sprayskirts that suggested hooking a little whiffle ball onto the grab ring, or taping it all up. I was wondering if anyone does this, and what its benefits are?

I would Imagine it makes it easier to grab hold of on a wet exit; I just can't figure out for the life of me how to get a whiffle ball onto that grab ring, or why just the plastic tube thats on it already isn't enough.

Thanks for any help on the subject.

Hmm, just had to look up what a whiffle ball is. Sounds ridiculous. I can't think of any circumstance where you would be unable to locate the grab loop that having a ball attached to it would help.

The first time I needed to do a wet exit in cold water with heavy gloves on I was surprised that I could not feel the grab loop at all so I simply grabbed where it usually is and pulled. Luckily, I happened to have it in my hand, but after that trip I took a practice golf ball (just like a wiffle ball except smaller), cut a slot in it, slipped it onto my grab loop, and laced a shoe string aroud it to secure it the grab loop.
