An other newbee looking for advice on first buy 17 years 8 months ago #17342

Hi, new on the site & new to the sport, just took my first lessons last weekend with my girlfriend at \"La rivière rouge\" in Qc, Canada, we liked it so much that we are already looking to buy some USED boats and would need some advice.
We would like to RIVER RUN but, also surf & play a bit too cause, we live near the St-Lawrence River and the only spots we have near by are waves so, we'd kinda like some good, beginner friendly, all around boats.

I've been reading revues and manufacturer descriptins for hours now and my eyes are hurting and I'm starting to get things mixed up so, sorry for a probably redundant question.

Here are the used boats for sale that are the more closely related to what I want to do and are within reasonable distance from my place...
Feel free to add other models if you think something in particular would be perfect for our needs.

I'm 5'10\", about 150 Lbs after a good lunch and wear 10 to 11 depending on the shoe brand.

My GF is 5'2\", about 125 Lbs and wears women size 7

Look for riverrunners. IMHo good begginer boats are:

Necky Jive great starting boat
Dagger GT 7.5 (or GTS) for your girlfriend, 7.8 (GT) for you
generally boat with 60-65 gal volume, and 7,5-8ft length

If you want more surfing capable boat look for
7ft long boats, and volume 50-55 gals.

You must choose. If have any question post here, but don't flood with all known kayak models.

Thanks for the reply, very kind of you...

I'm sorry, I didn't meant to flood or anything, I just listed the used boats that are available not too far from my home and that, after researching & reading revues found out to be described as RIVER RUNNERS/PLAYBOATS I just don't want to drive around for hours all over the province to go see boats that wouldn't be well suited to my limited skills and at the same time spending money on fuel, that i could otherwise spend on equipment.
Just wanted to know which ones out of those were best suited for beginners...
As I'm trying to do just that... CHOOSE and it's quite hard when you don't know much.

I saw that you recommended the JIVE and since it's on my list, I'm going to go take a look at it.

Thank you very much, help is very much appreciated...

Alex.
