I thinking about getting into kayaking and this site looked like a great resource. I know a guy in Delta PA in the US who runs a kayak shop who has a Pyranha M3 243 $650. I am 6'1', 150lbs and know this is less than ideal for weight, but am only for 17 and have a limited income to spend on a boat. I figure that I will gain weight, and do not want to spend more than $700 on a boat. My problem is whether I should buy a brand new boat that is a little big, or buy a used boat that fits me?

Also, any reviews of the M3 would be appreciated as I cant find any really good ones.

Hey Ignis, you should always get a boat the \"fits\" you. There is nothing that can run a day like dropping 700 on a boat and finding out it hurts you. My advise to everyone would be to demo as many boats as you can as just because you fit the specs on a piece of paper does not mean you are going to be comfortable in the boat. There are alot of used boats running around for 700 and less..........then buy the rest of your gear at CKS .
