airial tricks, how? 17 years 8 months ago #17569

I've learned flatspins and can surf a wave pretty well at this point. I want to start learning some new tricks however like airscrews, donkeyflips, blunts and air blunts. I know how to blunt and am working on it but the thing about airial tricks I'm not sure of is how to get the boat airborn? I've heard of carving and bouncing techniques but am not sure how to do either. I have kickflipped going off a wave while going down river but I don't know how to get the boat into the air while surfing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

There's a good explanation on how to do a proper aerial clean blunt on the Cumec Magazine website . The part where it talks about actually getting air (using aggressive edge transitions) would be the same technique in most aerial wave moves. Also just make sure you always try and launch from as high up on the wave as u can, that way u get more air. If you launch from the trough u won't get much hang time.
