Read the blue writing in this story I wrote:

That may help a little. All airlines post up all kinds of rules and regulations and they need to do that so that they have a leg to stand on when 300 people rock up with tons of luggage all of a sudden, or during busy times when people go to Mecca etc. Know what I mean? Most of the time they are pretty accomodating, you are the customer afterall, don't forget that.

Try British Airways. No hassles for me. I chose them on their reputation based on what other kayakers experienced. Finnair was also great but they're of no use for your destination.. Do a search on the forums for flying with boats and you'll find some more threads. Good luck. I had zero problems.

Good luck flying with SAA Philip! And enjoy Uganda you lucky bugger! Are you driving to Jhb today or tmrw morning? ;)
