would you be kayaking only at the beach, or would you use this boat elsewhere?

I would just use it at the beach in the surf, and I will pinch my mates old kayak for the river. Im a surfer by heart but want to get into kayaking.

What sort of surf are you hitting?
Some boats work well on rolling waves but are suicide on a point or reef break.

Yup and guys who are asking what boat to use in the surf probably have a lot of experience and skill.

At your current height/weight look at the Mega X-Ray.

Are you planning on doing specific \"surf kayaking\" or are you looking at a general playboat that will be great in the surf. This a big difference?
