I see that the volume stated by dagger for the mamba 8.5 is 272 litres, yet quite a few canoe shops are listing it as 314 litres (e.g. brighton canoes). Which is correct? It looks more like the upper than the lower to me but its hard to tell just from looking.

this may have to do with the confusion between UK and US gallons:

US: 1 gallon = 3.785 liters
UK: 1 gallon = 4.546 liters

although 72 gallons doesn't equal 314 liters in either system....
maybe they used yet another gallon system:
1 US Dry Gallon = 4.4 liters , so that would make 317 liters - pretty close

Anyway, Dagger uses US gallons on their side, so it should be 272 liters...

i wish the whole world would just use the metric system

But if you've seen a mamba 8.5 it looks and feels bigger than, say, a diesel 75 which, according to the figures given by both manufacturers, it isn't. Its also longer than a medium burn, and wider, yet if dagger's figures are to be believed, lower volume.

martzin Offline Senior Member Posts: 43 Thank you received: 0	IMHO volumes on Dagger website are wrong. I compared Nomad 8.1 (68gal/257L) with Mamba 8.0 (62gal/234L (sic!)) in real and Mamba is way bigger. So Mambas volumes on Dagger site isn't true. Volumes on brighton-canoes are more accurate.
