Playak News Watch: eye4adventure: CUMEC Magazine Issue 3 <br>

Now that all the fireworks and smoke are clearing I can finally let everybody see the cover of CUMEC Magazine Issue 3.

Does anybody subscribe to this magazine? Is it any good? How does it compare to Kayak Session?

I really enjoy Kayak Session but don't yet subsribe. They are offering a free DVD at the moment but I've got it already. Hopefully they'll change that soon.. :yes:

How often does Cumec magazine come out? Thanks :grin:

I subscribe! as you can see this is only issue #3! so it's fairly new. Issue #1 was kind of a promo and not really a full issue. I'm not sure if it comes quarterly or once every 6months?

Kayak session is a very high quality professional magazine. I also subscribe to this one. It's easily the best kayaking magazine I have seen, but you pay for it!! $15AU per mag.

Not sure how to describe CUMEC, It's a smaller magazine (less pages), not as high quality paper as Kayak Session, but it's still not bad. You get your trip reports, how to do tricks etc. It's not a bad little magazine, and it's quite cheap too! $6 AU per mag.

Subscriptions are only for 2 magazines at this stage, so I'd recommend getting 2 and seeing if you like it. If not, don't re-subscribe

Issue 3 is only the 2nd full mag (issue 1 was kind of a promo). I enjoyed Issue 2 but thought it was a little rough around the edges. But I figured it was still good value for money compared with Kayak Session.

I only just read issue 3 (I've been away for a week). I'd have to say I was very pleased with the magazine. It seems to have stepped up in this issue. Very high quality and professional. It's still not as thick as Kayak Session, but it's certainly top quality. Being only the 2nd full length issue, this magazine definitely has a bright future ahead!
