I am planning to do the Cheat race in the spring (first time). I want to start training over the winter in the boat i will do the race in. Can anyone recommend a long boat for that race. I will do most of my training on the Potomac. I am 215 lb. and 6'1\" I don't care about the categories so much. I just want to go as fast as i can. I don't have the skill or time to paddle a real wild water boat. Thanks.

copy and paste the link into your browser www.cheatriverrace.com/2007individualresults.htm Look at past results on that page for \"individual results\" think about something long and glass If you have the choice. Maybe a really really old slalom boat that is like 15 feet. I had no chance of winning my short slalom boat so think real old and fast. Good luck on your boat search and see you there.

You can go with a Sea kayak or a wave hopper
