Hi

I'm thinking of heading off to Nepal within the next week to 3 weeks max & am looking for any info.
Its pretty last minute & am going alone so am thinking my options are:
1) to pre book with a company like Royal Beach as I only have around 10 days so don't have much time to organize stuff there & find people to paddle with.
2) or to fly to Pokhara rent Kayak from Ganesh Kayak shop warm up on the Seti & ask around about companies & trips.
Any advice, info, links or contacts most appreciated.

Thanks
Brad

PS: Would be great if there was a Nepal section in the forums?

Charley at Ganesh seem to have had the most modern boats in county and a fairly reasonable hire cost. See if he can hook you up with Babu, he is a great guide and has lived in Pokhara his whold life and was mentored by Steve Fuller who I think has moved back to England.

A good site is www.raftnepal.org/Raft-Nepal-Index.html

you can e-mail Charley @ [mail address protected from spambots with javascript]

Thanks great site lots of links.

The mail to Charley got bounced back so sent a mail to Andy who runs the site.

Another site with some good pics & info is
www.shivaoutdoors.com/boathouse/index.php

Must work fast so I can still get there at the best time.

Anyone else been there & have some advice to share?

hi there I so you posting on boatertalk first
but this is a bit easiuer I think

if you are fast and can go to this:
\"\"
When: 2007-11-17 - 2007-11-19
Where: Nepal, Bhote Khosi, Kathmandu

Peak Challenge event in the high Nepalese Himalayas.

X Slalom, Head to Head Downriver and Freestyle events combined with food, partying, culture and new for this year - the first ever Himalayan Mountain and River Film festival.

If you are interested in taking part or just partying with us get yourself to the brand new Peak UK Shop at Equator Expeditions, Thamel, Kathmandu on the 16th November. Sign up and get the bus ride up to the river on Saturday morning. It’s a really great weekend and fun is guaranteed for everyone.\"\"

Then you will have no problems I think. great event I am told.

the season depends a bit on what you want..
first thing to find out is how the monsoon was this year I was 2 years ago not a big monsoon and we whre end okt begin nov and sunkosi was quite boring for example.

As the boats got better in 10 years and much more has been paddled in nepal. I have the feeling that the paddling season has moved forward a bit.

from dubai nep[al sound a good idea I do not know how ticcket are to the nile and the zambize. the nile seems to be dammed about now so you better be quick if you want to paddle that river...

I think peter knowles is in nepal at the monoent perhaps you can get in contact with him.

Have fun whereever you go I am jealous stuck in the flat netherlands

Sounds great, any idea how to get more info, will Peak UK have details.

Haven't had much feed back from anyone I've written to yet guess its the week end.

Hope this all comes together, must go paddle in the sea now just in case.

2 years ago we where in nepal with 3 I wnet on the annapurna with one and the 3rd had only a few days left after the paddling she did this peak festival and had a great time most of the nepali paddlers are there and also the foriegn guys and girls. So I think if you went there around that time first do the festival then you can make plans. I do not think that peak uk has much info , but i think the can mail your questions to some body how will know.
