Nope the Kendo is a very easy boat to roll, maybe practise using hip flick to get you up right. Also it helps in any kayak to get the outfitting set up so you get good purchase from the boat

- needs active paddling, otherwise you will go for a swim

I have a third generation (2005) Kendo.

It's 23.6 inches width. It makes it easy to roll, but surely it's not as stable as a 24.5 or 25 inches width boat.

Our experience is that it's a little difficult for beginners (they're always upside down) but it's for intermediate paddlers (and up) it's so fun ! Also, it's so fast that you won't miss that eddy...

I got used to it within a couple of days, and its low width makes it respond quickly to currents but it's easy to change your lean, so the boat will give you a hint where a bigger boat would have brought you upside down before you have time to react.
