You are probably not going to catch a whole lot of air just bouncing. Bouncing into a trick is where you will get air. Trying a blunt will be a lot of fun. What you want to do:
get way up on edge as the wave is breaking and you are surfing it. You want it to be pretty green. You won't catch any air once the wave has broken. sink your right edge and carve to the right. As soon as you feel your boat grab into the water. Launch a massive and pretty verticle right stroke to slam that edge in the water. Immediatly throw your feet down as your bow begins to rise and do a left backstroke. This should bring you around. Catching legit air will take a while though. Have fun

check out this animated GIF that is looped so you can watch the blunt over and over again.

It demonstrates a good take off point. Too many people try to blunt donw in the bottom of the wave. It can work, but you won't get any air.

If you surf around the face of the wave, feeling it out, you will surely find a point at which the wave is the steepest, or has a bit of a crease to help you out.
The first bounce you do/get will be the best one to blunt on. If you bounce twice you will probably be at the bottom of the wave and will have wasted energy. The blunt can work, but won't be as big
