RAPID MAGAZINE’S READER'S CHOICE SURVEY 17 years 3 months ago #19889

For ten years the editor's of Rapid magazine have been telling you what they think is important in whitewater. Now it's your turn. Tell us what you think about the boats, rivers, gear and road trips that have made the last decade the most exciting in the history of whitewater. Complete the survey at www.rapidmedia.com.

Find the results in the 10th Anniversary Issue of Rapid in paddling shops and on newsstands early February.

Thanks.

:cursing:
I just spent 10 minutes thinking of good answers, and then it tells me the site is unavailable.

Here's are few for the sake of argument, I'm curious to hear your answers.

Best Kayak:
Jackson Rocker: the bulkhead that moves forward with a piton is BRILLIANT and makes up for any defects in the design. Why is this not standard in every creekboat?

Should playboating be in the olympics?
No, downriver Class V is where it's at

What will not change in 10 years in our sport?
Most people don't like to run the shit. In other words class V rivers will always be relatively uncrowded, no matter how big our sport gets.

Favorite Rivers:
Salmon River CA
Ashlu River BC
NF American CA

I, too, had problems with the website. In response to fiddleyak's answers, here's what I have to say:

I'm not convinced with the Jackson boat. An all around great SUV of a boat is the Wavesport Diesel. Beginner to class V....it takes it all. AND it even allows me to surf and spin. All that, and it's got fantastic outfitting.

Should playboating be allowed in the Olympics? I'm not sure, but I think it makes a better candidate than down river. Don't get me wrong, I prefer down river class V over rodeo any day, but freestyle is a much better spectator sport.

What will not change in 10 yrs?
Tao Berman still won't be able to hold an intellectual conversation off the river.

Favorite Rivers:
Upper Youghiogheny, Western MD.
Tallulah Gorge, Georgia

I'm at work, where MOST things are blocked for one reason or another.
:frustrated:

I will try again from home, later.
